Trick or treat; darken up your cocktails this Halloween

Screams erupted from the mysterious building, standing alone in an abandoned town once so full of life. The town used to thrive, residents would greet each other with hearty smiles, young women would walk their dogs in the park before heading to the local college; but not anymore, not tonight.

It was a Friday night, October 31st 2014, and everything was going as you’d expect. Carved pumpkins spelled out death and despair on every doorstep, ghosts and vampires walked the streets with innocent children looking for their sugar rush – but then something happened, something terrible.
In the town lay a quaint little bar, a proper little saloon in the heart of the community, and this Halloween night there was quite a rush. A group of zombie nurses (hen party) that had come in from the three towns over were on the karaoke, a group of vampires were in the corner discussing the latest sports defeat, and Pikachu was perched at the bar ordering a pitcher of something crimson and suspicious.

The night was still young and the victims unaware; oh the horror that awaits them, the suffocating despair. The children went inside and closed their innocent eyes, so as not to witness the terror of the Devil in disguise.

The scream, it was piercing and the patrons bereft, as the bartender announced there were no cocktails left!

It’s that time of year again, so break out your costumes, dig out the fake blood and pay attention. Halloween is a time for treats, whether it be sweets, or a few cheeky vodka based Halloween cocktails. There are so many to choose from there’s not much danger of running out (providing you’re fully stocked up on vodka) like the unfortunate fellow from our story.

We love vodka and we love Halloween, so we put the two together – here are our favourite vodka based Halloween cocktail recipes.
